What is a Brain MRI?
A Brain MRI is a painless radiology exam which may be performed to help examine the area of the head or brain in a non-invasive manner. It aids doctors in visualizing and identifying tumors, infection, inflammation, optic or auditory nerve dysfunction, multiple sclerosis and assess part of the brain controlling thought, speech, movement or sensation.
Who should get a Brain MRI?
A Brain MRI is usually ordered by doctors if you have these indications:
- Multiple sclerosis
- Stroke or mini stroke
- Tumors and cancer
- Lacunar infraction
- Hearing loss
- Vertigo (dizziness)
- Tinnitus (ringing in the ears)
- Pituitary tumors / adenomas
Is there radiation involved?
No. An MRI is a painless radiology technique that has the advantages of avoiding radiation exposure.

Once completed, you will receive your results within 3-5 business days in your LabFinder portal.
