Vascular Ultrasound Near Me

What is an Arm Artery Ultrasound?

Sonogram is also called ultrasound. Arm Artery Ultrasound shows if there are blockages in the arteries of the upper half of the body. A physician may order an ultrasound if a patient is experiencing any pain, swelling, or other abnormalities that require an internal view of the arm artery.

Who should get a Vascular Ultrasound?

An Ultrasound of Arm Artery is usually ordered by doctors if you have these indications:

  1. Evaluation or follow-up of patients with exercise-related/induced pain, ischemic rest pain, and/or arterial ulceration
  2. Assessment of patients with documented arterial disease
  3. Pre-procedure assessment for planning of intervention
  4. Follow-up to determine technical adequacy of surgical intervention, i.e., post angioplasty, and/or stent placement
  5. Follow-up of bypass grafts to detect intrinsic stenoses or progression of disease, which may threaten graft patency
  6. Evaluation of aneurysm, pseudoaneurysm, and arterial-venous fistula
  7. Evaluation of arterial trauma

Is there radiation involved?

No. Unlike X-ray imaging, there is no ionizing radiation exposure associated with ultrasound imaging.
