Exercise Stress Test Near Me

What is an Exercise Stress Test?

An exercise stress test sometimes called a treadmill test helps your doctor find out if you have any blockages in the arteries of the heart or if you have an irregular heartbeat. The stress test helps your doctor find out your risk for a heart attack. Typically a stress test takes 10 minutes to perform.

Who should get an Exercise Stress Test?

Your doctor may order a stress echocardiography test if you have these indications:

  1. chest pain
  2. coronary artery disease
  3. myocardial infarction
  4. heart attack

How do I prepare? Do I need to fast for an Exercise Stress Test?

  1. Fasting 4 hours before the test is required; medications should not be taken the morning of the test
  2. Patients should not use lotion as they can interfere with body sensors.
  3. Be sure to bring athletic clothing and sneakers for the exercise test
  4. If you have arthritis or another medical problem that prevents you from exercising, speak to your physician about alternate testing
