LabFinder Announces Enhanced Insurance Billing for Required Telehealth Visits, Expanding Access to Care
The MinuteMed Telehealth Appointment Fee may now be covered by insurance when possible, helping reduce out-of-pocket costs for lab and imaging orders.
NEW YORK, NY, 2026 – LabFinder, a platform connecting patients to labs and imaging centers, today announced an update to how insurance works with LabFinder. LabFinder has always been insurance-first, connecting users to labs and imaging centers that work with major insurance plans.
What’s new: in addition to passing insurance to the testing location, LabFinder now also bills insurance for the required telehealth visit when possible. That means the telehealth appointment fee you may have paid before may now be covered by your insurance, too. Coverage depends on your plan, but the LabFinder goal is simple: help you use your insurance wherever possible and avoid unnecessary out-of-pocket costs.
Key details of the update include:
- Insurance-First Billing: There’s no payment due today. We’ll submit the MinuteMed Telehealth Appointment Fee to your insurance first. Your card is saved only in case insurance does not cover the appointment. Lab test fees are billed separately.
- Separate Billing: Labs and imaging centers bill insurance for testing. LabFinder bills insurance for the telehealth visit when possible.
- Clear Cost Structure: “Service Fee” is now referred to as “Telehealth Appointment Fee” for clarity.
- In-Network Priority: Insurance first, we keep you in-network.
This enhancement supports patient journeys ranging from work, school, and travel compliance testing to proactive, preventive care and symptom-driven testing.
