What is a Hearing Screen?
Hearing screen or Audiometry is a test to tell if people might have hearing loss. Hearing screening is easy and not painful. In fact, babies are often asleep while being screened.
Who should get this test?
People of any age can be screened for hearing loss. Newborn infants are now routinely screened before leaving the hospital. Most preschoolers and school-age children are screened periodically. Anytime you have a concern about your hearing or your child’s hearing, you should ask your doctor about getting a hearing screening.
