What is a Cytomegalovirus test?
Cytomegalovirus (CMV) blood test is done to rule out infections such as pneumonia and hepatitis and to prevent death in immunocompromised patient. In adults, cytomegalovirus (CMV) infection may yield flu-like symptoms. A positive test may be repeated in 10-14 days if active infection is suspected.
